Getac V200 Leads the Way in Land Rover Experience Tour
THE ADVENTURE BEGINS
Getac V200Fully Rugged Convertible Notebook
The Land Rover Experience Tours™ have visited Jordan, Iceland, Great Britain, North, Central and South America, as well as Malaysia in recent years. This year’s new tour started in the beginning of June in Bolivia. The Tour is a taste of pure excitement and adventure… and not only for off-road fans:
This time, Getac V200 fully rugged convertible notebook joined in. They are among the most powerful rugged notebooks with all the key features for reliable operation even in the toughest environments. Getac’s V200 uses a fast CPU with the most robust system design. The V200 handled important safety-related tasks during the Tour while also serving as portable workstations. For navigation and communication, the V200 handled video conferencing via satellite and transmission of telemetry data from a Land Rover ambulance.
Wide ranging applications and reliability made these notebooks the ideal companions for the Tour team in inhospitable areas of Bolivia. The V200 took everything in stride -- extreme climatic conditions ranging from high humidity to severe drought and dust. The system also outperformed amid sand, constant vibration, extremes of temperature and altitudes of up to 6,000 meters above sea level, all the while operating constantly without so much as a blink for these tough machines.
The V200 runs the Intel Core i7 620LM at 2.0 GHz, (Max 2.8 GHz with Turbo Boost technology) which is one of the most powerful CPUs currently available for use in a rugged notebook. The 12.1 inch screen with its 1200 nits QuadraClearTM technology is very well suited for installation in a vehicle as well as for outdoor use where the display is perfectly visible even in direct sunlight. According to Getac, the screen has additional multi-touch technology that allows operation using one, or several fingers simultaneously and will even work with a gloved hand.
The Land Rover Experience™ has been operating using a global network of off-road areas in cooperation with professional instructors and event planners since 1989. There are more than 30 centers operating worldwide in 16 different countries. There is a wide range of off-road activities available in close cooperation with the marketing divisions of many vehicle specialists. The tours are arranged and carried out by APS GmbH, Agency for Promotion and Service.
